What would a beautiful manicure be without beautiful hands? Autumn is here, and so is the cold, and it’s important to take care of your hands every day, and a little more during the cooler seasons. Our hands are sensitive and can quickly suffer the undesirable effects of the cold. To avoid this, we’ve put together a few tips to keep your hands soft and perfectly moisturized this fall/winter!
Tip 1:
Wash your hands regularly. But not just any products! Preferably use mild soaps that won’t attack your hands.
Tip #2:
Warm water is preferable to hot water, as the latter tends to remove your skin’s natural oils and cause unpleasant tightness and dryness more quickly.
Tip 3:
Use a moisturizing hand and nail cream as often as possible to prevent tightness. In summer, choose creams with a UV index, to prevent the formation of brown spots and other sun damage.
Tip from Nailistas: Slip a travel-size tube of cream into your handbag, so you always have it with you!
Tip 4:
When doing the daily housework or gardening, arm yourself with a pair of gloves! Detergents and other chemical products are aggressive to the skin and therefore to your hands, so protect them!
Tip 5:
If you’re going to be exposed to the cold and wind for too long, slip on your best pair of gloves, and you’ll be protected from the cold and trendy right down to your fingertips!
Tip no. 6:
Exfoliate dead skin for soft hands! About once a month, don’t hesitate to exfoliate. There’s a wide choice in the shops, or you can make your own! A reminder: always moisturize with a cream after exfoliation!
Tip 7:
And finally, nailistas’ tip don’t forget to moisturize your cuticles: they’re very sensitive and serve to protect your nails. If you’re in need of a special cuticle oil, a lip balm will do the trick just fine, or a vegetable oil such as sweet almond, avocado or coconut oil, for example!
N’hésitez pas à appliquer ces astuces au quotidien, et vos mains vous diront merci ! 🙂
